Veneers and Lumineers are thin tooth-coloured shells that are attached to the front surface of the teeth to improve the aesthetic and design a new smile
Both serve the same purpose of improving the aesthetic of the teeth. The only difference is for Veneers we need to remove a small layer from the front surface of teeth (a few mm) Lumineers are basically “No- prep Veneers”. There is no need to prepare/ remove a small layer of teeth. They are not invasive. Depending on many factors, our Dentist can suggest what type of veneers/ Lumineers will suit you the best.
First appointment our dentist will select a shade for the Veneer/ Lumineers. By matching it with the rest of your teeth by using VITA Easy shade digital spectrophotometer. The dentist will start preparing the tooth, shaping and polishing it to a desired size. Then the impression of your tooth is taken. A temporary Veneer/ Lumineers is custom fabricated and cemented for use till the next appointment. Second appointment- After we have received the Veneer/ Lumineers from the lab, our front desk will book your second appointment. The temporary Veneer/ Lumineers will be removed. The area is cleaned and the new Veneer/ Lumineers is cemented by dental cements. Minor adjustment of your bite is made, if necessary. You can start smiling with your newly designed Veneer/Lumineers instantly.
